It’s been crazy the last three nights! I went to a job fair Wednesday night, and didn’t think much of it to the extent that I only spoke with one company, and only halfheartedly gave the rep a copy of my resume. I was actually more interested in a possible position at a local hotel. Dropping off my resume there proved much more beneficial — I had an interview Thursday night! Which went extremely well, might I add. The woman interviewing me was extremely delighted to know that I am no only bilingual (apparently the majority of their housekeeping staff is Mexican, and few of the front desk crew speak any decent amount of Spanish), but am tech savvy (with the addition of a wi-fi network to their building, they need all the help they can get) as well.

Much to my surprise, an HR rep from the job fair company surprised me with a phone call after getting home from work today, which led into a lengthy telephone interview, followed by an invitation to stop by and speak with him Monday at the office! This is insane — two companies, two jobs, two interviews, and all in two days! It looks like my much anticipated career move is on it’s way to becoming a reality.

Alas, all of this good news does not come without a price. I’m pet-sitting my friends betta fish, and hers is alive and well in his own separate tank about a foot away from mine. Well much to my shock, my dear “Fishy” (it’s a corny name, based on an inside joke relating to a corny person) was gone this morning, and I feared the worst. Sure enough, it looks like he committed suicide sometime yesterday. In an attempt to kill his new enemy, Fishy somehow jumped out of his fishbowl and encountered nothing but futon. Andy found his body early this morning… I’m not sure if I’m going to get another fish, but we’ll see.
