Antonio!

Today while sitting at the mall enjoying my chinese-fast-food lunch, I was entertained by a girl playing the piano. She was very good at it, despite the fact that she played mostly modern pop anthems with music replacing the words… The thing that struck me the most was the fact that something so simple as someone playing the piano was such an amazing act; the fact that that woman was able to create (beautiful) music out of nothing but strokes on a wood and ivory construct was absolutely amazing to me, for the simple fact that I lack such a talent as hers.

Adding to that thought, while at Boomers, I had the rare pleasure of enjoying the company of an art student at the Ringling School of Art and Design. Once again, something which she most likely takes for granted and considers second nature (ie: her ability to manipulate pen and paper to create life-like images of the people around her) sent my mind whirling in appreciation of the beauty of the simplicity (and at the same time complexity) of her art.

Tonight, as I often ponder, I realized that (to quote a certain Green Day song) nice guys do often finish last. A certain female companion of mine remarked that I’m too nice (as I drove her home at 3am, despite her priorly agreeing to spend the night). What did my kindness get me? A drunken thank you. Not that I’m against that, but after what seems like an eternity of the same thing, I’d like some change. Following up on that same persons’ thoughts earlier in the night, it’s been a while since I got a chance to have some fun with someone else. You know what I mean….

Tomorrow brings about another day of work. As previously mentioned, I’m enjoying work at the new job. I really enjoy the company of those around me, and those people that I meet every day. I look forward to what the future holds for me in my current career path.

With that, I think it’s about time to call it a night. Peace out.
