What’s Mine is Not Yours

Despite having broadband/cable Internet access, sometime my computer drags like it’s still running on dial-up. Andy and I share access to the network via a Netgear wireless router; he’s got the corded end (by means of a 100 ft. CAT-5 cable that snakes it’s way around our living room into his room) and I use an 802.11g wireless card to surf. But….

The red circle indicates how much Andy’s computer has downloaded from the Internet, and how much it’s re-uploaded (visit the official BitTorrent website for details on why those numbers are so high). Then there’s little ol’ me, in the green circle, with hardly and usage. So much for getting half of a 3-megabit access point.
