Let the world change you…

Saw The Motorcyle Diaries last night with Margaret. I’d never really known anything about the history of Ernesto “Che” Guevara, but it’s an amazing story, one that I wish I could parallel in my own life (well, at least the pre-revolutionary part). I’d love so much to be able to do what he and his best friend did, to leave everything they had and knew and let the open road be their home. Even though people were more open back in the 1950s, and South Americans are/were probably more welcoming of strangers, it’d be incredible to go from town to town and get to know the common people first-hand by living with them.

I’ve decided that this will be the year I take my 2-week road trip out west. I’m not sure of the exact route, but I’d like to hit up Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, the Grand Canyon and eventually reach the Pacific coast (maybe near Redwood National Park). There’s so much of the United States I can’t wait to explore, and I’m growing impatient.
