Milwaukee in the summer

Rachel and I had the chance to see the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra’s last concert of the 2004-2005 season yesterday. The MSO played a free lunchtime “best of Mozart” show in Cathedral Square park and we took full advantage of the beautiful weather to have a picnic (sushi from Metro Market no less!). It was a great concert, and I can’t wait till the holiday season rolls around again to finally check out Milwaukee Ballet’s version of The Nutcracker.

I’m finally going to join a gym, and Brickyard Gym in Bayview looks pretty cool (and is super cheap!). Anyone care to join me?

The Milwaukee Public Market is set to open in two weeks, and I’m excited! I have a feeling I may be going there frequently to get all the goodies I’ll need for when I start actually cooking food instead of microwaving it.

The girlie and I are probably taking a week-long vacation to Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado. Mapquest claims it’s a 24 hour drive, so I’m prety confidant we can make it in two days. Now the question: do we drive the Scion or the Honda?

Maritime is playing at Summerfest tonight. I’ll be there drinking outrageously overpriced beer and trying not to kick the crap out of annoying little teeny-boppers that don’t care that I know the lead singer of the band but rather are just waiting for the next band (Death Cab for Cutie) to come on stage. Here’s hoping John and I don’t become violent drunks!
