The orgasmic bliss of High Definition

After months and months of deliberating (and search for funds with which to make my purchase), I’m now the proud owner of my first HDTV: the 30″ LG 30FZ4D. It seems this particular model is in high demand nationwide as I managed to get the last boxed one at my local Best Buy.

I gotta tell ya, it’s freakin’ gorgeous. And much bigger than my old 19″ TV which at 13 years old just wasn’t enough for me anymore. Now I need only to move out of the apartment I’m in now so I can live someplace where I can have a kick-ass audio setup to complement the picture quality…

Which leads me to my newly discovered curse: I can’t stand Standard Definition TV anymore. I get all my local channels in HD/digital, but with the exception of PBS on channel 36.1, there’s no 24-7 HD broadcasts. That means that while I may be watching the local news in HiDef, it’s up to my local news to actually film and broadcast their show in HiDef. You can see that the major networks don’t push HD stuff out until later in the evening anyways, but I can tell you the difference is enough to make me a huge PBS fan now.
