Ancient pottery, the original LP

Apparently French scientists have found that by reading the grooves on pottery found in the remains of ancient Pompeii (the same way a needle reads the grooves on a vinyl record), the sounds of the pottery workshop can be heard… including laughter. Check out the video on this site. It’s in French, but about halfway through you can hear what they’ve discovered.

This is INCREDIBLE. Does anyone know anything about this? It sounds almost unbelievable!
