The sad reality of Wii Ownership, Part Two

After two days of blissful indulgence in the new world of Wii gameplay, disaster struck in the form of a BSOD. Monday after work I got home and decided to play a round of Twilight Princess, or so I thought. I turned the little white console on, the power light turned green and… nothing. I tried different inputs on the TV and used the composite cable that came with the Wii instead of my cheap eBay brand component ones, all to no avail.

A few hours of searching on Google yielded some bittersweet results: my Wii console was dead, but replaceable. Thankfully I registered my console and games the day I got them and was able to call Nintendo and tell them what happened. In what had to have been the shortest, least complicated technical support I’ve ever experienced (16 minutes from dialing to hanging up!) I had Nintendo ship me a new console with the promise of sending the old one back in the next three weeks. Once I get the new one back I’ll be set, and the open invite to come over and play Wii Sports shall resume.
