San Diego attempting to ban alcohol at all beaches year round

Local San Diegans may recall the “riot” on Labor Day at a local beach that ended with the arrest of 15 people for various reasons. The drunken debauchery that happens at the beaches (mostly amplified on holidays and during the summer when tourists descend on the oceanfront by the millions) has been a big sore spot for the city council, but now they’re looking to remove the problem rather than address it. There’s a meeting at 2pm today downtown where a committee will be voting on a complete ban of alcohol (24×7x365) at all city beaches including PB, OB and Mission Beach/Bay.
