I find my lack of updates disturbing

A quick glance at the archives for my blog shows that I’m not posting nearly as much as I used to. Craig posted something a few weeks ago about how he thinks that webpages are dead thanks to social networking sites like Myspace and Facebook; maybe he’s right…

It’s said that no news is good news and if that’s the case I must be doing pretty well. The only newsworthy items I can think to post about are that I’ve finally paid off my car (8 months early at that) and I got the deal of the year on a Blu-ray player over the weekend (thanks to Sears posting it on their website for $149 instead of $249). Other than that, it’s life as usual. Work keeps me pretty busy to the extent that I took a day off and came back to over 50 emails and a dozen voicemail messages. It’s nice to know people find me important but geez!

With things like “What are you doing” on Facebook, the blog posts haven’t been published as often (for me). I guess the blog can be used to expand on phrases and ideas posted on Facebook day to day. It is interesting to think about though, if you look at the way personal sites have tended to disappear more and more. I’ll continue to run and pay for my site(s) even if webpages are dead or alive :)
